Abstract

This research aims to study the impact of social media platforms on media culture in Arab countries. In light of the significant technological transformations that have occurred in the Arab region in recent years, social media platforms have become a major tool for disseminating news and information, leading to a shift in traditional media practices and the creation of a new media culture. The study explores how these platforms have affected news consumption patterns and media content, as well as their influence on social and political values within Arab societies. It also highlights the challenges related to the credibility of information and the spread of fake news, discussing how to address these challenges in the open digital world. The research concludes that social media platforms have contributed to enhancing freedom of expression and expanding the public debate space, but they have also led to the spread of fake news and created new challenges regarding media credibility. The study emphasizes the importance of strengthening media literacy and developing regulations that govern the use of social media platforms to ensure their safe and effective use in line with media values and principles
