Many mosaics of the world are known to mankind, one of the forms of monumental art, in which the image, ornament is made of natural stone, glass, ceramics, wood or other various materials. Distinguish between two types of mosaic works: 1) A work made of small cubes of glass or stone (so-called Roman mosaic technique) and 2) A work made of thin plates of a variety of marble and jasper (mineral), which are cut out and form a drawing based on the matching of the contours of the image.
