EMPLOYING GOVERNANCE TO ENHANCE IRAQ'S POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC STANDING

Abstract

This research deals with the role of governance in enhancing Iraq's political and economic position, as Iraq is a strategically important country in the Middle East, as it has rich natural resources, including oil and natural gas. However, Iraq faces many challenges in order to achieve political and economic stability, previous studies indicate that poor governance may be one of the factors affecting the weakness of Iraq's position at the political and economic levels, and the challenge of governance is the lack of transparency, accountability and corruption, which It negatively affects investments, the development of the private sector and the achievement of sustainable development in Iraq .
