Bildungsroman is a type of novel, depicting the physical and moral development of the main hero, covering the period from childhood to adulthood. As the hero is usually an orphan child the path towards maturity becomes harder, demanding her or him to overcome various obstacles. “Hunger” is one of the most common motifs that writer uses to describe the real adversities of orphan children.
