Abstract

The study aimed to identify the prospective memory that related to event and time among postgraduate students, and to identify the differences in the prospective memory associated with the event among postgraduate students according to the variables of gender (male-female) and stage (Master-PhD), as well as to identify the differences in time-related prospective memory among postgraduate students according to variables of gender (male-female) and stage (Master-PhD). In order to achievement the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach was used, where the study tools were prepared, validity and reliability of the tool were extracted, and the study tool was applied in its final form on the study samples (total number = 100) of postgraduate students from the University of Wasit. The results of the study showed that there are no statistically significant differences between the prospective memory associated with the event and the prospective memory associated with time among postgraduate students, with presence of statistically significant differences for the master degree and absence of statistically significant differences according to gender variable for prospective memory associated with the event. Also, this study showed a presence of statistically significant differences in females according to gender variable with absence of significant differences according to stage variable for prospective memory related to time. In conclusion, this appeared as the first study detects the relationship of gender and stage with the prospective memory and time. Therefore, we concluded to conduct a furthermore studies for prospective future with other variables such as mental motivation, emotions, imagination, thinking in particular on middle school students
