Abstract

The study examined non-economic factors and employees' performance in Rivers State civil service. The study was guided with four objectives and four corresponding research questions and hypotheses. The research was anchored on the human relations theory advocated by Elton Mayo. The study adopted a correlational design. The population of this study consisted of the entire civil servants in Rivers State Civil Service. The study adopted simple random sampling in selecting 400 civil servants for the study. The instrument for data collection was self-structured questionnaires titled; ‘Non-economic Factors (NEF) and Employees’ Performance Questionnaire (EPQ) in Civil Service in Rivers State. A pilot study using the instrument was administered to 30 company workers in Rivers State
