This article is devoted to the general linguistic theories in English linguistics of the XVI-XVII centuries and the practice of norms in vocabulary, which is considered to be very actual for investigation. The views expressed in this article, as well as the comparative examples that are given in the English language, serve as a scientific source when highlighting various aspects of the terms of ethics of the Renaissance period.
