The Supreme Federal Court is the highest judicial authority at the apex of the Iraqi judicial hierarchy. It is a court established under the Law of Administration for the State of Iraq for the Transitional Period in 2004 and the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq of 2005, currently in effect. The constitution emphasizes providing constitutional guarantees for its independence to enable the court to fulfill its assigned duties effectively.
