Abstract

The current research aims to measure the cognitive needs of kindergarten teachers, and to identify the significance of the significant differences according to gender (males - females). The research sample amounted to (800) teachers from private and governmental kindergartens. To achieve the research objectives, the researchers built a cognitive needs scale for kindergarten teachers, which consists of (40) paragraphs. After the researcher extracted the psychometric characteristics of the cognitive needs scale, the scale in its final form became composed of (40) paragraphs Appendix (5) according to a five-point scale for the answer test. The maximum total score of the scale measures cognitive needs, as the highest score on the scale reached (200), while the lowest score reached (40). The hypothetical average of the scale reached (120). The data were processed statistically by using the statistical bag. Appropriate statistical methods were used, including: T-test - Cronbach's alpha - Pearson correlation. The results showed after using and processing the statistical methods that kindergarten teachers have a high level of cognitive needs among kindergarten teachers.
