Abstract

This study intends to reduce production costs in order to improve the competitiveness of units operating in Iraqi environments by enhancing process design. The mechanical carpet factory was chosen as a case study, and the findings were applied to all units in the same setting. We will collaborate on rationing production costs by investigating processes using rationalization methods to determine where to start and what the best way is to improve the design of processes and their outputs in terms of performance level, price, quality, and customer’s satisfaction in order to achieve the research goal. The study reached to a number of conclusions, the most notable one is of no value activities that drive up manufacturing costs. These actions are difficult to avoid unless processes are better designed, prices are reduced, and new technology is implemented
