Keywords:
Old Nishaburi Pottery, the Effectiveness of Visual Formation, Structural FoundationsAbstract
The current research consists of four chapters. The first chapter discusses the research methodology, addressing the research problem which investigates the nature of the effectiveness of visual representation in ancient Nishapur pottery. It emphasizes the importance of this pottery in the history of Islamic ceramic production in general and Iranian ceramics in particular, due to the scarcity of studies on this geographic region and its historical period. The aim is to understand the effectiveness of visual representation in this pottery, defining the research boundaries and introducing the specific terms related to the research topic . The second chapter covers the theoretical framework, discussing the concept of effectiveness and its consistency in visual arts. It also delves into the foundational principles of image formation in formal structure. The chapter highlights the foundational principles of visual effectiveness, which are based on geometric criteria related to the geometry, symmetry, and proportion of shapes, following a rational and effective structure. It underscores the effectiveness of visual representation in liberating formal structures from strict rationality, emphasizing the importance of creative freedom in expressing deeper meanings related to salvation and transcendence . The third chapter discusses the research procedures, including the collection of representative samples according to the specified time frame and research boundaries. The research sample consisted of five models representing a proportion of the research community, selected based on the theoretical framework indicators
